Blindfold on. Seated at the centre. Then a live orchestra begins to move around you — a violin to your left, a cello behind you, brass overhead. No stage. No screens. No sight. Just sound, arriving from every direction, inside the soaring space of Cathedral of Hope. Nocturnal Orchestra is one unforgettable hour where you don't watch the music — you feel it find you.

What makes it unlike anything you've heard

You're blindfolded, so sight switches off and every other sense turns up - you feel a note before you can place it. The orchestra moves: no stage, musicians walking through the room as they play, so the sound has direction and never stops changing. You're seated in the round, surrounded on all sides — there's no "good seat," every seat is the centre. It's live and unamplified inside a real cathedral, sound you feel in your chest in a space built to carry it. One hour, no phones, no distractions. Just you, the dark, and an orchestra all around you.

How the night unfolds

You arrive, leave your phone behind, and take your seat at the centre of the room. The lights lower and you place on your blindfold — and from that moment you navigate the next hour by sound alone. Musicians begin to move around you: near, then far, then somewhere you can't quite name. Iconic music, reimagined for the round. When it ends and the blindfolds come off, the room won't look the way it sounded. You're always in control, and you can lift your blindfold at any time.

The music

We're keeping the programme a secret until you're inside - but expect music you already love, rebuilt for a space where it can surround you. Familiar enough to move you, transformed enough that you've never heard it like this.

Know before you go
